Hi, I discovered that there is a way to put educational games by other software publishers on my site. I'm going to try it. Let me know if you like or dislike any of the games.

Welcome to the Social Studies guest games. There are three games to play:

  • MapMaking - MapMaking teaches you the locations of states and provinces in the US, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, the UK, France, Germany, Russia, China, India, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and the location of countries in Africa

  • Globe Navigator - Globe Navigator tests your knowledge of capital cities for countries around the world

  • Time Trip - Time Trip is a quiz game that gives you 4 related historical events and asks you which ones came first.
Click one of the links above and let's start playing!

Teacher Notes:

This is an experiment for me in including Flash games by other developers on my site so that students can learn a little something extra when you bring them to FunBasedLearning.com for my original games.
Let me know what you think of the games and whether you think they are worth including on FunBasedLearning.com.
There is an ad before and after the games - that is part of the agreement I have to honor in order to provide the games.

Technical notes:

These are games written by other developers that require accepting an Active X control. There will be an ad before the game starts.

If you are running Internet Explorer, there will be a bar at the top of the screen that says "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer. Click here for options..." Click on the bar and choose "Allow Blocked Content..." Then you will see a Security Warning box saying "Allowing active content such as script and ActiveX controls can be useful, but active content might also harm your computer. Are you sure you want to let this file run active content?" Click "Yes" on the Securing Warning box. Then the player will appear and there will be an ad you need to wait though while the Map Making game loads. And then you can finally play. Sorry that all takes so long, but that's the process we have to follow to allow games from other publishers on my site.
